Private Office
The need to flee Paris during the pandemic prompted a renovation of a mansion into a space that could accommodate the entire life of the clients. The house couldn’t be solely a holiday retreat anymore. The main focus, to start the renovation, was a home-office.
A derelict attic with servant’s quarters needed complete restructuring but offered privacy and would allow the owner to work in a quiet space that wouldn’t be accessed by his children. The former maid’s bedroom were merged together to provide space for a forty square meters office with a desk, a place for reading and peruse the view as well as a living area and ample storage. This autonomous space is accessed via a private staircase and is closed off from the rest of the attic which will be renovated on a later date to create apartments for the growing children and, one day, their families.
