The place where one is truly vulnerable is also the most intimate part of a home and is often overlooked as a piece of furniture whilst we spend a substantial amount of our life in it. This bed was conceived as a crossing between a painting, notably with the framed headboard, and architecture with its solid and well proportioned stucture. Hence, it evokes both the solidity of a home and the delicatness of a piece of art. Both of these aspects substantiate what a bed is the place for.

Originally intended for a castle this piece was designed partly to be able to interact with an overwhelmingly grand architect and hold its own in such a setting without the need for additional clutter.
