Temples were designed to draw the crowd in and be places of gathering. The later churches and chapels were built around the same idioms and thus became part of a city’s landmarks. One aspect these landmarks have in common is often a simple rectangular plan which underwent distorsions or additions to make it more solemn.

This side-table takes cues from this process of shaping a form using rigorous geometry to achieve a striking whole that seems natural.
